About & visit

Rooted in Bath, led by the seasons.

Nell opened Sweetpea on Walcot Street in 2016, after ten years growing cut flowers on a smallholding outside Bath. The garden is still where it all starts: most mornings, half of what’s in the shop was growing the day before.

The garden first, then the growers, then the market.

From April to October most of what we use is British-grown: from our own cutting garden, and from six small growers in Somerset and Wiltshire. In winter we buy carefully at the market, choosing growers who treat their land and their people well.

We never use floral foam. Arrangements are built on moss, chicken wire and water, and everything we can compost goes back into the garden.
